The Vision Statement of Friendship
Vision Statement
The vision of Friendship Chapel is to be a fellowship of believers that demonstrates freedom in all areas of faith. The participants of that fellowship will be encouraged and enabled to fully worship and glorify God as individuals and as a corporate body, in obedience to Christ's command to love and serve (Matthew 25:31-46), and His commission to evangelism and discipleship (Matthew 28:18:20). As a fellowship we purpose to bring healing and wholeness as ambassadors of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) to the world to which He calls us. Our vision is that:
We will meet God in prayer and celebrative worship
Christ reminds us that the greatest commandment is to love God with our whole being (Matthew 22:37). That love will be expressed in the praises of our prayer and worship. Aware that at the center of our Christian faith is a personal relationship with God, our Father, we will purposefully use the gifts of prayer and worship to grow in our relationship, as believers and the Church.
We will lead people to the healing power of Jesus
The second great commandment is that we love others as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:39). God calls us to proclaim the good news of his love and salvation offered through Jesus Christ, his Son (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8). We will minister as representatives of Jesus, Himself, to all those who are in need that he places within our reach (Matthew 25:31-40, Luke 4:18-19, 2 Corinthians 5:20).
We will encourage Christians toward an obedient life as disciples
God also calls us to teach to others, those things he has taught us (Matthew 28:18-20). We are called to obedience that rises out of thankfulness for God's grace and mercy to us (Romans 12:1-2) and that we may be untarnished reflections of the Father's glory (1 Corinthians 10:31, Philippians 4:8).
We will prepare for Spirit-led, gift-based ministry as we seek to be used by God
God has gifted us with His Holy Spirit (Romans 12:4-8, 1 Corinthians 12:7, Ephesians 4:11-13) in order to empower us to do ministry together as a unified body of believers. Each member has been gifted and granted a "good work" that was prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). We will identify, develop, and use that giftedness, seeking the blessing of His Spirit.
